FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fly Shop Outlet Establishes Internet PresenceFly Shop Outlet Publishes a Specialized Directory of Discounted Fly-Fishing Gear on the WWWBy Gary Hoggard Posted October 24, 2004
In the mist of the Internet shopping juggernaut, Fly Shop Outlet has embarked on new or at least not well-known territory by creating a well-organized shopping center on the World Wide Web. Fly Shop Outlet has created a central nervous system for tracking down the best deals available on the Web regarding fly-fishing gear. While this site is essentially a site filled with links to other Web pages, customers are provided with sales, clearance and closeout items that are just a click away.
The Internet has become the best source of information for practically anything throughout the world. The major challenge at this point regarding the Internet is the organization of information and developing the means for finding it. The front-running web crawlers such as "Google" are certainly making progress. As a physicist/engineer working in the area of research and development, I have seen drastic improvements made by the major search engines over the last few years. These improvements have been witnessed through conducting literature searches using Internet search engines. Five or six years ago, going to the library and paying big bucks to access various databases was required to conduct these types of literature searches. Now, virtually all articles and professional papers are available, in one-way or another, on the World Wide Web. However, as search engines improve their algorithms, the information available on the Web continues to increase in astronomical proportions.
As the information available on the Web continues to grow, large ".com" businesses will continue to try to capture the market in all areas they can conceive. Just by visiting Amazon.com one will see what used to be a great place for purchasing books has become an affective shopping fiasco. Web sites that specialize in retail sales are quickly becoming saturated with advertisements and apparently random product displays based upon some hidden reference to your search criteria. Wading through this nonsense is time consuming and confusing to the consumer. Customers know what they are looking for and don't need all of the extra information that they are forced to absorb to get to that for which they search.
It will be just a matter of time before the consumer will force the increase of specialized directories and search engines. Traditional directories will not be adequate. These directories only lead visitors to the homepage of sites that have been placed in a category and do not locate specific products. The referred potential customer must still wade through the site to find a product. Once they complete the task, they still will have the "Is this the best price?" question.
As technology progresses the most precious commodity for the typical consumer will increasingly become time with money being a close runner-up. Future Web sites that provide the customer with streamlined shopping will ultimately be the most successful. Providing the customer with the quickest access to the best deals will be the recipe for success. Some Web sites have attempted to provide this to the Internet shopper, one of the most popular of these being "pricegrapper.com." These sites have the right idea, however, in the case of pricegrapper.com, they attempt to provide the best price for over 3.5 million products. With the amount of products available, it is nonsensical to believe that the consumer is getting a sample of all of the best deals on the Web. Fly Shop Outlet has developed a concept that is bigger than fly-fishing. This concept will revolutionize the Internet shopping experience. Specialized directories such as this that provide the best coverage in organizing links for visitors will ultimately prevail and be the most successful. In the mean time, fly shops that need to move inventory to make room for newer and better products, along with the fly fisherman looking for quality name-brand fly-fishing gear at reduced prices, will benefit
